Every time I give a talk about AI, the first question is always the same: what about security?
🌶️ Hot take: the fear of AI chatbots leaking your confidential data is a bit misunderstood.
Any business or enterprise plan, by default, does not train on your chat history. If your employer gives you a work AI subscription (and at this point, they really should), you’re covered by their terms of service. The major AI labs have billions riding on that trust, and it’s squarely in their interest to honor it.
Where you CAN get burned is your PERSONAL account. By default, those do use your chats for training. The good news: opting out is quick and easy. The catch: you have to do it explicitly, and most people never do.
